About Me

Hello all, my name is Ian. I'm yet another person with an insatiable love for tea. The main focus of this blog is reviewing tea as well as posts dotted in between that focus on the intricacies such as tasting, brewing methods, and a myriad of faq.

I have a wide variety of tastes in tea. Whenever I try to say "my favorite type of tea is..." I end up naming everything. There is no one category of tea I hate. They all have something wonderful to offer!

Japanese Greens are by far what I'd call my "expertise." They are what threw me face first into the world of loose leaf tea. After that I have a lot of experience with Chinese Greens (especially Longjing), Wu Yi, and Anxi oolongs. My Taiwanese and Dan Cong knowledge has widened a lot as well.

If it is new or unique, I want to try it!

Outside of tea, I am currently going to University to earn a Bachelors in Economics, minor in Applied Mathematics. If everything works out I'll be going to grad school to become an econometrician. I have an associates in CADD (Computer Aided Drafting and Design). I tutor economics and am a Tier 1 College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA, working towards 2 and 3) certified writing and reading tutor via my University. I mostly work with non-native speakers from China and various countries in the middle east. I am currently learning German.

I am currently working on two novels with high hopes of becoming published someday. I play Pokemon competitively, I do math for fun, hike, swim, and read a lot. I am currently a practitioner of Bampu Zen and am looking at joining one of the other sects for formal training. I am also vegan.

Tea Reviews

I will not like every tea. No one will like every tea. Therefore, if there is a tea I don't like, that doesn't mean you, good reader, aren't allowed to like it. Even in teas I don't like I can see why they would appeal to other persons.

Regardless of if I am given or purchase the tea I will:
  • Provide pictures of the leaves in various stages and liquor
  • Tasting notes
  • Rate how I feel about the tea honestly
I'm willing to try just about everything but I find I like lighter, more delicate teas opposed to more robust, heavier teas. I thoroughly enjoy herbals as well. If you would like to send me tea to review, please contact me at:

When you ship the tea, please make sure that it is well packaged, available to be sold to readers, and fresh. The tea and tea company will be mentioned and linked in the review. All pictures are taken by me.

By all means share the review with friends and/or on your social media, but make sure that it comes back to this website. If you have any coupons or deals, let me know! I'd be more than happy to share it on the blog. Please make sure to include the duration.

Any other questions? Shoot me an email!
